the Japan-node(http://www.neuroinf.jp/). We also have a plan to
invite Asian-Pacific countries such as India, China, Korea,
Australia and others to know present situation and discuss
future collaborations. Other Projects in Japan including large
scale brain modeling, which is a part of the Next Generation
super computer project (to be built in Kobe, next to the venue)
and some other Japanese Brain Science project such as BMI project
         are also planned.

Neuro2010 (http://www.neuro2010.org/neuro2010-eng) will also be held
in succession to the Congress, the Congress and Neuro2010 will have
a co-hosting Symposium on Neuroinformatics and will provide a discount
registration scheme for the people who will attend both conferences
(Please see the details for each web site).

The year after next Congress Neuroinformatics 2011 will be held in USA.

1) SfN Neuroscience2009:

SfN Neuroscience2009 will be held from October 17 to 21 in Chicago.
http://www.sfn.org/am2009/

a) Related Abstract Search Tool(RAST) http://ras.ni.brain.riken.jp/SfN2009

The Lab. for Neuroinformatics at RIKEN BSI has developed a Related
Abstract Search Tool(RAST) for the SfN Neuroscience 2009 annual meeting.
A quick guide is shown on the top page, and a detailed guide can be
accessed by clicking on "How to use". You can create a list by clicking
on Add to Cart button at each abstract, where abstracts will be sorted
by date and time. You can also print the list with or without the
abstract body from your Printing Cart. You can restore your "Printing
Cart" by saving the ID which is displayed on the top right corner.
Related Abstracts will not always contain the keywords you have entered.
We call these abstracts "hidden treasure", since you won't be able to
find them only by the provided keywords. Try the RAST and find your
"hidden treasures"!

      +++ the day before INCF Congress2009 +++

The School is a three-session hands-on course for graduate students.
Rather than giving a broad overview of neuroinformatics, the course
will introduce the participants to key methodologies of the field
and give them the opportunity to experiment with different approaches
to tangle the same question. Each session will start with a lecture
and will be followed by computerized hands-on exercises. The three
sessions vary from imaging, image data analysis and models based on
the analysis, i.e., from imaging to models.

   Target group:
Neuroscience graduate students and postdocs who need to strengthen
their knowledge on the related subjects.
